Uldran

Agricultural Settlement

Uldran joins Tharos’s principal food-producing basin to a military canton, feeding the same fortress companies it trains and supplies.

Overview

The Record

Uldran feeds the companies it trains. Cultivated shelves cut across a warm mountain basin, holding reinforced fields, enclosed growing structures, reservoirs, irrigation channels, and heavy storehouses. Between them lie broad courts and shelf roads where companies drill, carry weight, and maintain formation under gravity that quickly exhausts an unacclimated visitor.

Agriculture and readiness are administered as one obligation. The same routes carry harvests toward fortress-cities and supplies toward a company being raised. Irrigation, storage, landing areas, defenses, and training grounds are inspected to the same standard, because a failed channel can weaken Tharos as surely as a failed exercise.

Faldris retains Tharic command over the settlement. Othryn may call the companies trained here under the vassal oath and represents their deployment beyond the moon, but it does not direct Uldran’s farms or local institutions. The canton exists to make disciplined force sustainable, not merely visible.

Identity and Function

Function

The settlement cultivates, stores, and distributes food; trains companies; maintains logistical reserves; and supports the fortress-cities through agricultural and military infrastructure.

Identity and Function

Governance

Tharic agricultural and military authorities administer Uldran under the internal command at Faldris. They coordinate production, storage, training, and defense as one public obligation. Othryn may call the companies under the vassal oath, but it does not govern Uldran’s farms, canton, or local institutions.

Environment and Travel

Environment

Cultivated shelves cut across a warm mountain basin beneath colder heights. Reinforced fields, enclosed growing structures, reservoirs, irrigation channels, heavy storehouses, training courts, and defensive works share ground under Tharos’s dense atmosphere and strong gravity.

Travel Notes

Most off-world visitors enter through Faldris, acclimate to Tharos’s gravity and pressure, then transfer by reinforced freight routes. Agricultural works and training grounds require local admission. Supply convoys and companies being raised, equipped, or deployed take priority over ordinary movement.

Culture

The Twofold

Uldran expresses Dawn through sustained labor, readiness, and public service. Quickeners work the cultivated shelves, while Menders serve the drill grounds and hold final authority over fitness to march. Because the same people work fields and train in companies, a Mender’s judgment may alter a harvest schedule as readily as a deployment.
