Gloam — conceals
Eclipser
Fleet and column
A rare Gloam practitioner who conceals a vessel or column temporarily, licensed individually by three powers that prosecute deliberate combinations jointly.
rareRarity, not rank. A practitioner is one thing for life.
An Eclipser conceals something large for a limited time: a vessel, a convoy, or a column on the march. One practitioner may cover a single operation. Concealing a fleet or army requires several practitioners acting toward the same purpose, moving the work from an individual service into prohibited combination.
Kharad, Othryn, and Edrane license Eclipsers separately and prosecute combined work through the Threefold. An individual warrant therefore permits useful concealment without authorizing concert. The joint jurisdiction ends outside those powers, and common Eclipser rules do not extend onto the Rhovani steppe, where the Circle has condemned concealment of armies but has no agreed means of enforcement.
The boundary encourages visible respectability. Licensed Eclipsers keep records, accept contracts that can be shown to a magistrate, and avoid engagements that place several practitioners under one purpose. Their legal standing depends less on the scale of one working than on whether another practitioner can be shown to have joined it.
