Overview
The Record
Tiravel turns cultivated slopes into goods whose value survives distance. Vineyard terraces, orchard stairs, oil groves, stone channels, and frost walls cover the temperate basins, while towns occupy the shoulders of estates rather than open ground.
The old estates govern water, planting rights, seasonal labor, and the roads that move a harvest to cellar or port. Cultivated land is already assigned, so expansion means improving a slope or negotiating a right rather than founding a new city. High country remains windbreak, pasture, or the boundary between claims.
Wines, oils, dried fruit, and sealed harvests travel farther profitably than staple crops. They do not feed the Embrace in Aurel’s place; they supply the tables and contracts that bulk agriculture does not. A failed vintage therefore harms estate credit as surely as it harms a cellar.
Aurel’s charter guarantees the external lanes and protection under which that trade moves. Tiravel’s estates keep local authority over cultivation and sale, but external agreements are made in Aurel’s name. The arrangement gives a specialized agricultural moon reliable reach while denying its local crest the standing of a sovereign seal.

- Aurel
Tiravel is a chartered agricultural dependency of Aurel. Its estates and agricultural councils govern cultivation, water, harvest labor, and local land use. Aurel guarantees external trade and protection and represents the moon beyond those local matters.
Tiravel’s wines, fruit, oils, and preserved crops complement Aurel’s bulk food system rather than replacing it. The estates may negotiate cultivation and sale within the charter, but external agreements and disputed cargo guarantees are issued in Aurel’s name.
The recognized Tiravelan crest belongs to the estates and agricultural councils. It is a local mark, not a sovereign seal, and grants no independent voice in system-wide councils.

Physical Characteristics
Ground and Sky
- Diameter4,620 km
- Mass0.034 Earth masses
- Gravity0.26 g
Tiravel has breathable, temperate air in its cultivated basins. Unworked heights are cooler, drier, and windier. Stone channels provide reliable moisture where vines and orchard stock are planted, while pruning fires and late-season storms create the principal episodes of smoke or dust.

Tiravel rotates once during each 13.956-standard-day orbit and is tidally locked to Oranth, which remains fixed above the inner hemisphere. Vya and Veo still rise and set over an extended light cycle. Estates schedule pruning, picking, pressing, and night work around that progression and the regular eclipses within it.
The outer hemisphere never sees Oranth and remains cooler. Most large estates occupy inner basins where reflected light moderates the long stellar night.
Culture
The Twofold
Tiravelan estates hire Quickeners for the weeks that decide a vintage, though those retaining one rarely advertise it. Dawn practice governs growth, harvest, and the release of a finished crop. The local wine-trade use of “cellarer” is an occupation rather than proof of a Gloam practitioner, a distinction offworld records must state explicitly.
Travel
Travel Notes
Use an estate port above the receiving valley and confirm a berth before descent. Valley winds and harvest traffic can close an approach even in otherwise fair weather. Buyers, cellar agents, and sealed agricultural cargo take priority during picking and shipment.
